Harvest 2010

This year our Harvest Thanksgiving Service will be on Sunday 10 October at 11am.  There are two ways that you can give a harvest gift, either by puting a cash donation in a Lodging House Mission envelope or by bringing something for the harvest display (especially tins, breakfast cereal, soup cereal, biscuits, dried fruit, rice, sugar, tea or coffee).  The church will be open from 11.00am till 1.00pm to receive gifts for the harvest display. Anyone wishing to help create the harvest display please be at the church at 1.00pm.

After the Harvest Service we will need as many people as possible to please stay behind to distribute the harvest gifts.

Flowers

Many thanks to all who have contributed in any way the to church's Flower Fund this year.  Your donations are always appreciated.  If there is anyone else who would like to put flowers in the church, perhaps in memory of someone or an anniversary etc, please speak to either Rita McKenna or Sharon Miller.

The Guild

The Guild starts back on Tuesday 5 October 2010. Please come along and join us Tuesday evenings, 7.30pm-9.00pm.  The syllabus is still to be arranged, but there will be interesting speakers and friendship guarenteed.

Gift Envelopes

Many thanks for returning your gift envelopes.  The total so far this year is £710.  Please keep returning envelopes to the Church.

The Well Retiring Offering

Thanks to everyone who gave to our June communion retiring offering for The well, which raised £134.  As well as a letter of theanks, The well also sent us their most recent newsletter which is now on the noticeboard next to the tea hatch in the main hall.

 Help Wanted

We are looking at increasing our congregation's participation in worship.  If you would be willing to read the bible, lead the congregation in prayer, or even  do the children's talk at some of our11am services, please let Howard know.  Training and help in this can be provided.
